Innovative Systems, Inc. / FinScan is a leading global provider of on-prem and cloud software data quality, data management, and AML compliance solutions.  We are seeking a fresh-thinking Senior/Principal Product Manager to manage and be part of our dynamic Product Management team. 

About the Role

You will be an integral part of our highly influential product steering team.  Your role will be to lead the development of Innovative's product strategy with success measured by achieving objectives related to the product roadmap, execution, and obtaining the buy-in to pursue them. You will also drive Innovative’s product success and achievement of annual NNR (Net New Revenue) goals and targets.

You and your team will participate in the product lifecycle from ideation to launch working closely with engineering, sales, product management, and product implementation to create market leading products that increase revenues and build customer value and satisfaction.

Work Environment and Location: This is a hybrid role based at our World Headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

What you will be doing:

Strategy and Ideation

  • Lead the Product Steering Committee and collaborate with senior leadership to define the product vision, goals and priorities.
  • Direct the implementation of the product vision and strategy to meet the company’s business objectives and market needs, while driving innovation and differentiation.
  • Lead the product roadmap planning, balancing short- and long-term goals while managing trade-offs effectively.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the user and their needs to generate new ideas, improve the customer experience and drive growth opportunities
  • Work with UX to analyze user interaction and needs and translate the insights into product requirements.

Plan and Execute

  • Manage the product life cycle from definition of market/user need, formulation of requirements, and product launch, while collaborating with sales, users experience (UX), Professional Services, R&D, and marketing teams
  • Develop and manage the product roadmap; track product development progression, estimate delivery dates, make include/exclude decisions, and escalate as needed to resolve issues and remain on track
  • Define objectives/requirements for potential new products/features
  • Prioritize selection of product features by ranking them against the strategic goals and initiatives and business considerations including perceived ROI and complete development cost estimates
  • Serve as SME/product strategist/solution designer working collaboratively with engineering and user experience then validating and assisting with refining product design
  • Lead weekly DevOps meeting and manage and groom roadblocks ensuring no issues get left behind
  • Effectively manage projects (in and outside of roadmap), make sure they are inclusive of all impacted parties, keep them on-track, update key stakeholders, and escalate proactively and broadly enough so issues may be resolved collaboratively and in keeping with objectives and values of Innovative
  • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) of features in Releases in conjunction with the UX team

User Research

  • Gather feedback and pain points from clients including for extensions and new product offerings
  • Collaborate with the Users Advisory Group and Account Management to select alpha and beta clients and ensure the product meets their specifications and market needs
  • Own client stories, ensure documented in Jira, and share them across teams (e.g. dev, sales, marketing, etc.)
  • Assist in setting the User Experience (UX) team’s direction

Educate, Inform, and Lead

  • Define and refine pre-sales presentations and workflows to ensure consistent and effective messaging during the pre-sales and sales processes
  • Work with product marketing to develop and execute the go-to-market plan for new and existing products, including pricing, marketing and sales efforts and analyst relations.
  • Act as SME for all things related to products/ and features and serve as Technical SME for Product Marketing /Marketing
  • Support the creation and presentation of product related webinars and help with technical marketing materials
  • Effectively perform full range management responsibilities of any direct reports including hiring and development activities.

Qualifications, skills, and experience you need to have:

  • Bachelors with a technical degree in engineering or computer science. Coursework in mathematics, statistics, management science, machine learning, and computational linguistics is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in Product Management in Financial Services Technology with at least 2-3 years successful direct management experience leading and growing product management teams and team members
  • Prior experience planning and managing projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
  • Technical understanding of software with background/experience in coding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to make presentations.
  • Results-oriented and resourceful, with a strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Familiarity with project management and design tools like Jira, Miro, or Figma.
  • Experience in the latest software development techniques, including Agile.
